What is tooth bonding?

What dental problems does tooth bonding solve?
- Repairing a stained tooth
- Closing a gap between teeth
- Fixing minor cracks and chips
- Improving the shape or length of a tooth
Tooth bonding vs. veneers: Which one do I need?
Dental bonding and porcelain veneers are both excellent options for enhancing your smile and fixing minor flaws like cracks, stains, and gaps. You must weigh the pros and cons of each method to make the best choice.
- Porcelain veneers are coverings that are placed on the front surface of your tooth. Before placing the dental implants, your dentist usually needs to remove part of the enamel from your natural teeth. Because of this, the treatment cannot be reversed.
- Veneers require replacement every 10 to 20 years.
Dental bonding doesn’t require significant enamel loss. However, you’ll require a retouch on your tooth or teeth every 10 years.
At MillBridge Dentistry, we’re ready to carefully look into your case and work together to offer the best and most comprehensive care.

The tooth bonding process
1.
Your dentist carefully selects a composite resin that closely resembles the color of your teeth.
2.
We’ll prepare your tooth by coating it with an adhesive.
3.
Your dentist will apply the bonding substance to the surface of your tooth, shaping it to match the contour of your tooth.
4.
Once the desired shape has been achieved, the material is hardened using a curing light.
5.
We’ll polish the tooth to give the tooth a beautiful, natural look.
Is tooth bonding covered by dental insurance?
It depends on your insurance plan. Our office accepts most major dental insurance, including the providers below. We’ll help you understand what your plan covers and what costs to expect.
